Friday night entertainment for Taiwanese netizens was a stomach-churning video taken on the Bannan Line of the Taipei MRT. In this cautionary tale, a young girl in hot pants and high boots sits lifeless and slumped in a train carriage, vomiting uncontrollably all over herself in a scene reminiscent of the Korean rom-com My Sassy Girl.
In the 44-second video, an MRT employee comes and asks the girl, “Are you OK?” But she merely reclines in what astute observers compared to a zombie-like posture, emitting a seemingly endless stream of brownish fluid from the side of her mouth. “You’ve vomited to the side,” he continues, “don’t worry, we’ll have someone come clean up in a moment.” A fellow passenger also comes over to offer tissues and held clean her up a bit, then suggests, “You’d better ask where she lives.”
It might not be nice to be entertained by the misfortunes of others, but at least she was taken care of—so go ahead.
