A popular online forum in Hong Kong is hosting a competition where perverts upload candid shots of girls’ butts, breasts, and more, to see which is, well, the perviest.
Using summer as the theme of the contest, the online forum has been accepting candid street snapshots of girls’ nether-regions from netizens. It has garnered dozens, each captioned with sexually explicit titles. 9 out of 25 groups of photos are selected to enter the contest by the admin of the online forum. Members can then vote and reply the posts according to criteria such as how much skin the outfit has exposed and the body figure of the lady in the photo. The winner of the contest will be awarded with lots of points which can then be used for viewing X-rated content on the website.
In these candid photographs, almost 90 per cent of photos were taken in the MTR train compartments with girls wearing tight skirts or hot pants. In each group of photos, there are shots taken from different angles and locations including close-up shots of hips, girls bending down and high-angle shot of girls’ breasts.
In response this contest, the police urged citizens to obey the law while using the Internet. Police emphasized that laws such as Prohibition on publishing obscene articles in the Control of Obscene and Indecent Articles Ordinance (COIAO) are also applicable in the virtual Internet world.
According to data from the police, around 300 people were arrested for taking indecent photos in 2013, and in the past ten years, there were a total of over 2000 cases. Some women expressed their worries and said that invisible Mobile Apps nowadays made being snapped against their will hard to avoid.
The admin of the online forum told a reporter from SingTao that obscene words were removed from the site (because it’s okay to violate someone’s privacy, as long as you don’t use salty language while doing it). He added that the activity aimed to reflect the fashion trend of young girls in Hong Kong nowadays and let members who cannot post photos to reply and vote for gaining points as the website was a platform for people to post pictures.
Taking candid photographs seems to have become a trend. Another online contest, “Hunting beautiful girls in the streets” is popular among members with nearly a thousand threads every day. Last year, there was a theme which ranked the best candid shots of girls’ breasts through T-shirts.
