The latest video from Taiwan to go viral online is a half-minute sequence of a gradeschooler in Tali, Taichung county crossing the street. Might not sound like riveting material, the actions of the kid now famous as “Super-Polite Little Girl” seems to have restored a lot of people’s faith in society.
As she walks along the zebra crossing, she quickly bows to all four lollipop ladies stopping traffic while saying good morning, something her mother claims she does unfailingly every morning. The girl’s auntie, however, has said that her parents didn’t tell her to do this so she might have learnt it from her kindergarten teacher, since her bowing habit began the day she started school.
In case you’re wondering why the cameraman happened to filming little girls outside their school gates, he was hired to produce a montage for the graduating year. (Have a little faith in people!)
It just goes to show what an impact tiny acts of kindness can have. Forget PLA pin-up boy Lei Feng, let’s all learn from Super-Polite Little Girl!
