A Shenzhen model went under the knife seeking a “Fan Bingbing nose” for a whopping 60,000 RMB in South Korea last month only to walk away with a botched operation and the need for specialized recovery surgery Apple Daily reports.
Liu Wei requested to tailor her nose to fit the look of the famous actress’s and brought in a picture for reference. The surgeon, however, claimed that Fan’s nose shape wasn’t natural enough, so he chose to do it his own way, which, unfortunately, turned out unsuccessful, uneven and even more unnatural.
Apart from her nose, she also enhanced her chin using a plastic implant, and left South Korea without any postoperative care. She said that although the chin was done according to her wishes (slightly lengthened to be one to two millimeters longer), it became inflamed and even festered half a month later. Finally she had to extract the silica gel implant at a Chinese medical center specializing in recovering any surgical failure undergone in South Korea (赴韓整形失敗指定修復基地). Imagine.
According to the report, the Chinese authorities have warned people seeking cosmetic operations in South Korea to pay attention to potential risks as it’s not easy to seek cross-border legal actions and investigation in case of medical accidents. They’ve also warned to steer clear of unlicensed Korean surgeons working in China.
