Eighteen-year-old Xiaopan was giving a friend a ride home his bike this Monday when he suffered what has been described as “a man’s most terrible pain”. As he began cycling done a steep slope, Xiaopan suddenly realized that his brakes had gone kaput. Unable to stop or slow down, the pair crashed headlong into a tree at the bottom of the hill.
Xiaopan broke his arm in the collision, but just that would have been getting off lightly – both of his testicles were torn out, perhaps skewered by a tree branch, and were sent flying into the distance.
Doctors managed to stop the internal hemorrhaging in his scrotum and mend it up again, but uncertainties still remain. Updates have described Xiaopan as being in a “stable condition”, but whilst he will assuredly survive it is not yet clear if the family jewels will make it through as well.
