A Chongqing man, surnamed Fu, initially thought that keeping pet crocodile was a good idea. But, after housing one for a few days, he realized that it wasn’t as appealing as he first thought. He feels the croc has become a threat to his family and that the city’s crocodile zoo would make a better home than the rooftop garden where he’d been keeping the reptile.
One of Fu’s friends had reportedly asked him if he wanted a crocodile. Thinking it would only be a baby, he agreed. The reptile arrived measuring about 1.7 meters in length.
According to CRI, Fu said that the “crocodile is fierce, hard to tame, and scares his eight-year-old daughter”, all pretty natural attributes of a crocodile one would think. Oh, and apparently “Crocodile Dumb-dee” doesn’t know how to properly feed the animal.
And not only does Fu not know jack about crocodiles, but it’s also illegal to keep them as household pets in China, according to Tu Renju, an expert on aquatic reptiles and amphibians at the zoo.
Still, Fu looks like a Nobel Prize-winning herpetologist compared to this snapping turtle smoocher.
