According to a new index announced at Berlin’s TEDSalon that ranks countries based on much they “contribute to the planet”, China has placed a dismal 107th, sandwiched between Pakistan and Rwanda.
The so-called Good Country Index bases its rankings on indicators such as International Peace and Security, World Order, Planet and Climate and Health and Wellbeing. The “goodest” country in the world, according to the index, is the Republic of Ireland, with the United States coming in at 21st. The highest ranking Asian nations were Japan at 25th and Singapore at 28th. The index’s ‘slight’ against the People’s Republic was only partially atoned for by not including Taiwan or Hong Kong on the list.
Haven’t these guys even heard of “China Moral Leader/Most Well-known and Beloved Chinese Role Model” Chen Guangbiao? The amount of good this man has done the world alone should at least bring China up to Russian levels of global benevolence. Hopefully, that’ll be the case after Chenny boy’s charity lunch in NY today.
