After collapsing on a road, an old man in Foshan tried to to call 110 for help, but the line was busy. Enraged, he decided to block the intersection with his shoes rubbish bins and hold up traffic, Yangcheng Evening News reports.
According to a witness surnamed Peng, at around 8:45 am, she saw the old man pass out all of a sudden, so she tried to shake him and wake him up. In addition to her, there were also three people who stopped to attend to the old man.
Soon after the old man awoke, he mentioned he wanted to go home and asked Peng to call 110 for him. However, the line was busy and it took several tries until someone eventually answered the call. In the meantime, the old man had already taken off his shoes and placed them in the middle of the road to block the traffic.
After several attempts to block the road alla throwing his shoes, pointing to the vehicles and shouting “stop”, and waving in the road, all of which were ineffective, he then grabbed a garbage cart to block the road with. This time the “road block” seemed to work as the cart was “long and big” enough to disrupt traffic.
The man, however, was not satisfied who even placed two rubbish bins in the middle of the road, causing a traffic jam. Ambulance arrived but the attendants could do nothing to appease the stubborn and nonsensical senior. He remained silent whenever someone asked him questions. Finally, the old man was whisked away by two police officers.
