A 13-year-old student in Leizhou, Guangdong province was reportedly beaten to death by his teacher after he was said to have talked back and insulted him during class.
Huang Pi-guang, a year four student Bei Zai Primary School, was playing with classmates during a mathematics lesson when the incident occurred. According to an Apple Daily report, Huang was reprimanded in class by his teacher, surnamed Chen, leading the student to talk back to Chen and verbally insult his wife. Infuriated, Chen slapped Huang, causing him to faint. He was then sent to the hospital and died, according to the report.
Classmates who witnessed the event said that the teacher slapped and hit Huang’s face, legs and head. Huang was seen foaming at his mouth with blood coming out from his mouth and nose.
Huang’s parents also found bruises and scars on his body and suspected that he was beaten before death. Netizens said that Huang’s parents put their son’s body on display in front of the school, demanding an explanation for his death.
Chen was taken to the police for questioning and the investigation is ongoing.
