A man in Hubei province was arrested when he’d stabbed a middle-aged man to death on the street by slashing his throat and chest open before reportedly pulling the victim’s heart out and “biting it” during a fight on Wednesday morning.
Witnesses said the scene on a street in Suizhou, Hubei was “bloody and horrifying” and that the initial fight began over a bowl of noodles priced at 5 RMB.
People all gathered around to watch the attack but no one dared to stop the attacker, according to witnesses, who added that the suspect did not run away after committing the crime ‘but wandered around the site and sat down with the heart in his hands’. After 40 minutes, the police arrived and arrested him.
Local residents who commented on the attack called it “psychopathic” and expressed fear over the scene of bloodshed so close to home. “We don’t have the sense of security now,” one resident said.
