A 12-year-old boy in Sichuan who intended to run away from home packed his bag with the real necessities before heading off: 100,000 yuan in cash to spend on computer games at an internet cafe. Sadly, the lad didn’t make it far before being found by his parents, who sent him to the police station for a good ol’ fashion reprimanding, according to ifeng.
Twelve-year-old Xiaoqiang carried his schoolbag and head off to an internet cafe on the morning of June 16. His parents thought he was going to school as usual, but the boy’s father soon received a phone call from a teacher saying that he’d never arrived. He decided to look for Xiaoqiang in some internet cafes nearby, as the boy constantly played online games.
After half a day of searching, Xiaoqiang was found blowing wads of cash at a store near his school. Liaoqiang admitted that he stole 100,000 RMB from his dad and attempted to run away from home because he didn’t want to stay home or go to school. He just wanted to play computer games in the internet cafe all day, damn it.
Xiaoqiang finally was sent to the police station to ‘receive a lesson’ from some authorities before he was sent back to his hometown to treat his “internet addiction“.
