A middle-aged Taiwan man made waves when he styled his hair into a perfectly right-angled flat top to look younger for a girl who had previously rejected him. Unfortunately, he doesn’t resemble a young person as much as he does a character from Minecraft.
The 54-year-old ‘blockhead’, surnamed Wu, is a medical laboratory scientist at National Taiwan University Hospital. Although he makes an attractive monthly income of TWD70,000, he is still single. Wu said that he adopted this hairstyle because he wanted to look like a guy in his 20s or 30s to attract the girl who rejected him. Hopefully she has a thing for the “Rock ‘Em Sock ‘Em Robot” look.
Styling this hair is not an easy task. “Old off-ramp head” reportedly needs to use up 2 cans of gel and spend 2 hours doing his hair. He can also only comb it once every 15 days.
People in Taiwan always bump into Wu on the metro. Wu’s block hair has made a profound impression on people, prompting netizens to nickname him “Square Head Man”. The famous comic artist Cherng ( Ma Lai Mo ) even featured Wu in his comics (above) after seeing him on the metro, saying “ his figure is always in my mind”.
