Teachers from a primary school in Funing Country, Yunnan province act as human ferries, carrying multiple students across a raging river to class.
This river crossing near to the school is reportedly the only quasi-safe route to Na Ha Primary School during the June rainstorms. Even still, the water level rises so much, it’s impossible for children to cross, forcing teachers to shlep them across the tumultuous waters.
The teachers say that the current of the river is very fast-flowing, and that they’re actually very scared while carrying the students. They hope that a bridge will be built there soon.
