Apparently not even Liaoning is safe from the tween vampire craze! At Benxi City’s new vampire-inspired cafe, diners are invited to satisfy their faux bloodlust by drinking crimson-colored beverages from blood bags and eating meals with copious ketchup. The cafe was reportedly created in homage to hit US TV Show, The Vampire Diaries.
The NY Post reports:
Servers dressed as doctors and nurses serve wannabe bloodsuckers red colored beverages such as red wine, cherry cola, and blackcurrant juice in pouches titled Blood Type Energy Supply, Europics reports.
The bags are served up inside a brick-laced room resembling Dracula’s cellar, complete with coffins, books about vampires and vampire=related music to set the mood.
Drinks that don’t look like blood such as coffee, mineral water, or other colored fruit juices are stained red before being transfused to the bags.
Each one is even labeled with the four blood types, allowing the bloodsuckers to check off their type appropriately.
Though honestly, considering that congealed animal blood is a staple throughout much of China, it’s surprising that this fake stuff is creating such a buzz. It’s a bit like Navy Seals getting excited over a game of laser tag.
