Take a few moments to watch this video produced by The House News Channel showing Tuesday’s “repeat of the ’03 miracle” in Hong Kong and soak in the almost breathtaking effect of thousands of people marching together.
Hong Kong Police estimated that only 92,000 rallied, according to Coconuts Hong Kong, while organizers put the number at around half a million. A study commissioned by the South China Morning Post estimated that 140,000 people took part in the July 1 march.
Either way, its turnout was probably a bit more fierce than the Kpop star-studded Hong Kong Dome Festival conveniently held on the same day.
