A total of 32 passengers were injured and 15 of them are now in critical condition after a bus in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province caught fire on Saturday afternoon, Xinhua reports.
The bus, carrying around 80 people on board, was driving through downtown Hangzhou when the fire broke out around 5:00 p.m. No deaths have been reported, and by yesterday night, 30 injured patients were already discharged from the hospital.
Police are investigating the case and “have not found any clue to show the accident was related to terrorism,” an inside source told the news agency.
The fire was put out after nearly an hour, and drivers of nearby cars were said to have rushed over with extinguishers to join efforts in controlling the flames.
In March, a man accused of starting a bus fire in Guiyang, Guizhou province that killed six people said in reports that he was taking “revenge on society” when he lit up a barrel of gasoline on the vehicle, causing it to burst into flames.
