A black llama tied up in front of a shop in Shenyang City yesterday attracted crowds of curious people for its rather unique appearance. So unique that the owner dished out 100,000 RMB to purchase the animal online.
The llama, named “Black Girl”, is a rare mixed breed that takes on the resemblance of a panda, so it’s also known as a “panda llama”. The llama’s owner, surnamed Wang, claims that Black Girl is the only one of her kind to exist in Shenyang.
“I saw this type of animal on TV two years ago. It was so cute, I spent 100,000 yuan buying one online with the help of my friends,” Wang said.
The eight-month-old llama eats a steady diet of two carrots and a bit of hay every day.
“I usually bring her outside to bask in the sun,” Wang said. “It’s too hot now so I gave her a haircut. I think she looks much better after the haircut.”
The panda-like llama wasn’t shy as the crowd snapped pictures of her.
Children also gathered around to feed Black Girl her favorite food—carrots.
“Take it easy,” Wang told a group of girls who seemed afraid to approach the llama. “Black Girl is so gentle. She won’t bark or bite people.”
