A beluga whale from Russia living in the Harbin Polarland Park in Heilongjiang province has finally began eating on its own again after it stopped doing so at the beginning of the month.
Chinese trainers and a Russian vet who conducted blood tests on the whale found no abnormal results, and guessed that the problem came from its stomach or esophagus. The trainers successfully inserted a tube into the beluga’s stomach, which pumped drugs and electrolytes into its body to prevent dehydration.
