The weather’s not the only thing that’s heating up (even more) this coming month. With Chinese Valentine’s Day coming up on August 2, we’ve rounded up 3 of the ‘heartiest’ meals.
Pelham’s: Francophize your Chinese Valentine’s Day at Pelham’s, where they’ll be serving a luxuriant 5-course spread consisting of oysters, scampi, halibut, wagyu beef tenderloin, and more. Two glasses of champagne included, along with flowers for the ladies.
1,888RMB for two // 6-10pm // Pelham’s // 1/F, Waldorf Astoria Club, 2 Zhongshan Dong Yi Lu (上海市黄浦区中山东一路2号，华尔道夫会所1楼).
Ambrosia: Doesn’t get much more fitting than a place called “Ambrosia” that’s ground zero for Shanghai weddings. This year, both Ambrosia’s Yakiniku and Teppanyaki restaurants are serving salacious ten-course meals; the former featuring King Crab, the latter Australian wagyu and live lobster. Best of all, this romantic dinner is also on offer on August 1st.
1,088 +10% per couple for the Yakiniku (1,488RMB +10% per couple for the Teppanyaki) // 5:30pm-10:30pm // Ambrosia // 150 Fenyang Lu, near Yueyang Lu (汾阳路150号, 近岳阳路).
Wei Jing Ge: Yeah, probably good to include at least one Chinese option for Chinese Valentine’s Day. Wei Jing Ge lets the sparks to fly in your mouth with an 8-course extravaganza of sautéed king prawns, cod fish, pan-fried Kobe beef, and more. Includes two glasses of bubbly.
6-10pm // 788RMB for two // Wei Jing Ge // Waldorf Astoria, Heritage Building, 5/F, 2 Zhong Shan Dong Yi Lu, near Guangdong Lu (上海外滩华尔道夫酒店, 中山东一路2号5楼, 近广东路).
