After reportedly keeping a 100 kg, 1940s-era bomb at his house for 50 years, 72-year-old Henaner Liu Jingshu apparently came to his senses and called the police to take it away, Tencent News reports.
“I always felt uncomfortable with it and now I am relieved,” said Liu.
Liu initially took the bomb home so he could scrap it and use the iron. He then covered it underground with his house and a pigpen on top – kind of a dick move if there were pigs present.
He finally decided to dig it up again and call the cops. Police arrived at his house and relieved him of the corroded explosive. The police said the this bomb may have been a leftover from “Eastern Henan Campaign”, part of the Second Chinese Civil War in 1948.
