Just because you’re an endangered flying squirrel doesn’t mean you can’t browse the furniture aisle, right? This adorable little critter animal was spotted at a furniture shop at Qianjiang District, Chongqing, reports Oriental Daily.
According to reports, a painter found the pint-sized mammal in a spray house. He attempted to shoo it away, but was foiled by its agility. Worried that the animal would be injured, workers caught it and locked it in a wooden cage.
Police arrived at scene shortly thereafter, and took pictures of the flying squirrel. They also fed it fruit. Animal experts identified it as a flying squirrel (scientific name: Petaurista elegans clarkei), under second-class national wild animal protection.
The police put it in a paper box and sent it to Qianjiang Yangtoushan Natioanl Country Park.
