A car owner in Fuzhou, Fujian who wasn’t willing to fork out 50 yuan to repair the broken side mirror on his car inventively replaced it with a pink cosmetic mirror strapped into place with tape, according to Oriental Daily. Images of the man’s DIY replacement mirror, in all its tacky glory, have proven to be a hit online.
The driver said his car’s side mirror was knocked off, and he decided to grab a new one from a glass shop. When he realized that a new mirror would cost him a hefty 50 yuan (ahem, 8.12USD) , he decided to purchase a five yuan cosmetic mirror to replace the original instead. With utmost delicacy, he then anchored the thing down with heaps of transparent tape.
Instead of criticizing the man for his frugality, many netizens have actually praised him for his creative efforts.
It’ll work wonders when backing into those bright pink, ladies-only parking spaces.
