A 4-year-old boy became an online sensation after using his mom’s iPad to purchase an expensive toy while his mom. If that wasn’t ridiculous enough, the tyke reportedly bargained with the seller (the dumbest one on earth, apparently) using the voice feature, according to Oriental Daily.
“My boy doesn’t know many words and but he shops online unexpectedly,” said the boy’s mother. “I didn’t believe this at first until I got a message about postage inclusion from the seller. I was dumbfounded,”.
Upon finding out, she immediately withdrew the purchase and apologized.
She promises to log out from her iPad before she leaves for work again.
In a similar case, a 13-year-old boy in Shandong spent more than 10,000 yuan shopping online, freaking his mother out who thought her credit card had been stolen.
A report by Guangdong Social Sciences College Youth Development Research Centre revealed that 30% of kids shop online and almost 50% possess a smartphone and an iPad. It appears we’re not too far from that dystopian, Wall-E-esque future where everyone’s a blob with fingers who lets computers dictate their every move.
