EXTRA, EXTRA: A 27-year-old dog tailor in Heilongjiang province claims that she likes eating dog hair, a habit that she picked as a result of tremendous work pressure, Apple Daily reports. The woman says she’s eaten over a thousand hairballs in two years.
Wang Jing is a self-proclaimed canine lover and gave up her job a while back to become a dog tailor. Her dog obsession began when she started keeping a poodle called “Kuku” as a pet four years ago, right after graduating college. She spoiled the pup by giving it imported dog food, pig liver-mixed rice, ice cream, and dried fruits.
She realized her offbeat dining habit of eating dog hair two years ago, attributing the strange diet to mounting pressure from work. One day she collected Kuku’s shaved hairs and put a pinch of them into her mouth ‘out of curiosity’. She unexpectedly loved the taste and soon found it ‘irresistible’.
From then on she saved the offed dog hair, kneading it into hairballs to eat when she felt hungry. She revealed that she liked the hair that fell off after Kuku’s bath the most.
“They are sweet like chocolates,” said Wang, who claims to have consumed over 1,000 of the delectable hairballs in the past two years.
Wang buys a variety of clothes for her pet, saying that she wants to become an expert in ‘dog fashion’. She is currently preparing to open a dog clothing workshop, feeling confident about her future.
