An ex-convict in Xin’an, Henan province was detained after he filed a false police report as a way to get sent back to jail to see an old friend who was still in detention, Global Times reports. Seems to have worked.
The man, surnamed Hou, was booked on August 16 after he reported a fight in the city’s Xincheng district.
Police who arrived at the scene did not find a fight taking place, but rather, an incredibly inebriated Hou stumbling towards them with two beer bottles in his hand.
Hou reportedly smashed the cop car windshield with a beer bottle then fell to the ground. He was hauled off by the officers and charged with obstruction of public service for filing a false report.
Hou later said that he was lonely after being released from jail last year.
“I want to reunite with my friend and enjoy the peace of jail,” Hou told police. That is so Brooks.
The man had originally landed himself behind bars in 2008 on a robbery charge. He was sent back to prison for robbery with intent to injure in 2013, where he served 17 months.
