In yet another incident stemming from the war on Chinese ATMs, a 17-year-old teenager from Hubei was spotted violently smashing one of the machines with a hammer in an attempt to get some money out, Apple Daily reports. His attempt failed.
The teen, surnamed Su, was recorded on CCTV cameras continuously cracking the screen of the ATM. The bank guard attempted to stop him through a calling device attached to the ATM, but Su, that rascal, switched it off. Police and bank guards arrived within 10 minutes to detain him.
Police said that the cash was stored in the safety box below the ATM, and would be impossible for Su to get despite all his smashing.
Su told officers that he ran away from home and needed money. He emphasized that he didn’t intend on taking a lot, just a sufficient amount for living. .
