A flying enthusiast was pulled over on a Jinan-Guangzhou highway while towing a small aircraft behind his BMW, CRJ Online reports.
Liu’an police received a report about a car speeding and dragging a private jet along the highway. They dispatched a team to follow the BMW and warned the driver via speaker to slow down. The car pulled over at the service area of the west bridge.
The driver owns a firm in Shanghai and claims to be a flying enthusiast. The aircraft he carried was constructed with his investment. He had just been doing test flights in Liu’an and was taking it back to Shanghai for further modification. He worried about unsafe state roads so he decided to take it on the highway.
The man was charged with a modest 200 RMB fine and released.
