A tourist in Congjiang County, Guizhou who walked into a stream to take photos was quickly driven out by two white geese who aggressively defended their space, Tencent News reports.
The tourist, surnamed Lu, works in silver production and was visiting Gaowen Village for a field study.
Attracted by the beautiful scenery, Lu walked into shallow stream with his camera to capture some photos. He was attacked by the food-seeking waterfowl after stepping too close, and, for a while, couldn’t manage to escape from them.
Two strong geese seemingly ignored Lu’s surrender, continuously pecking at him as he fell down in the water.
Lu’s legs were slightly injured in the ambush as he managed to guard his phone. The same couldn’t be said for his money and cigarettes, which Lu lost in the struggle.
According to a local villager, these geese are very aggressive and kids in the area are told to avoid getting near them. Lu said he didn’t strike back because he couldn’t bear to hurt the geese.
Lu added that the trip was an otherwise wonderful experience despite the fowl run-in.
“I won’t walk too close to the livestock for investigation next time and will be aware of both human and animal safety,” he pledged.
