After security guards ‘pulled a Chengguan‘ and beat an innocent man in Beijing, they received comeuppance via getting their vehicles demolished by the man’s colleagues. Investigations are ongoing, People Daily reports.
Witnesses claim that the victim of the beating, M. Zhou, was innocent. According to one witness, Mr. Ren, the security guards were packing up vendors’ booths when Mr. Zhou got off his electric motor scooter and took a few pictures with his phone. At that moment, one of the guards yelled, “what are you looking at!” and demanded that Zhou hand in his phone. When Zhou refused, they started beating him about the head with baseball bats
Mr. Zhou fled but the guards still chased beat him. “They chased him for 50 meters”, Mr. Ren said.
According to Mr. Zhang, Mr. Zhou’s colleague, dozens of his company’s workers rushed to the scene demanding an explanation. When they didn’t get a satisfactory reply, the workers destroyed several security vehicles.
The police took two security guards and several company workers in for questioning.
Mr. Zhou was brought to an emergency center for treatment. He was diagnosed with a light concussion, and his right eye was red and swollen.
