An online customer who gave a poor rating to a shop on Taobao was gently warned to never, ever do that again when the seller shipped him a body bag in response.
The Fujian-based customer, surnamed Xue, gave the shop a bad rating after he ordered a pair of shoes that weren’t up to snuff, Shanghai Daily reports. He was promptly bombarded with over 80 phone calls from the angry seller, which Xue traced back to Quanzhou, Fujian province.
Xue blocked the number and carried on living his life, when, on August 30, he received a package containing a 38-yuan black body bag that had been ordered on Taobao by an anonymous account.
Taobao on Tuesday confirmed that the account belonged to the Quanzhou seller, whose shop was soon suspended.
It was also revealed that the seller had tried to have a refrigerator delivered to Xue so he would have to pay for it at the door. His plan was foiled, however when the appliance shop called to confirm a delivery time with Xue, and he was able to trace the ordering phone number back to the shop owner.
Adding insult to injury, Taobao said it had suspend a number of accounts owned by the Quanzhou seller, and that they had all received low ratings by other users too.
