Hundreds of workers from Dongguan’s Wintak LCD Co. Ltd, an Apple supplier, went on strike this morning after the company failed to distribute moon cakes and 600 RMB holiday bonuses as promised, Apple Daily reports.
The disgruntled workers blocked Silong Road and Huancheng Road near the factory, resulting in serious traffic jams until 11:00 in the morning, when they were convinced to return to their duties.
It’s unclear if the short-lived strike was indeed fruitful.
More than 10,000 workers are employed at Dongguan Wintak, which boasts the largest sales volume of flat LCD panels in the world. The company is one of the foundries of Apple.
