Three young girls in Yingde City, Guangdong province were injured during a drive-by shooting, Shanghai Daily reports.
Witnesses at the scene said that two masked men on a motorcycle drove by firing shots at another target around 5:00 p.m. on Sunday in Lixi town. The three girls, two four-year-olds and a five-year-old, were hit by the pellets as they were playing outside.
All the girls are in stable condition, although one girl who was hit by 14 bullets still requires another operation.
“Doctors have only taken out 10 bullets near her head and heart considering her young age. The other four are in her arms and legs. They will operate again after she recovers,” her mother, surnamed Feng, told reporters at New Express Daily.
The perpetrators fled the scene after firing the shots. Police are still investigating the case.
