Triggered by rainfall over the Yangtze river, the highest flood peak of the year was witnessed in Chongqing yesterday. The Jialing River, a tributary of the Yangtze, at one point reached 180 meters higher than the warning level.
Chongqing authorities issued a yellow warning for flooding in the city and evacuated hundreds of other, non-fishing, residents.
