In yet another inane display of self-righteous indignation on mass transit, an elderly Chinese man in Hebei decided to hold up traffic for two hours after feeling slighted that a university student didn’t give offer up his seat on the bus.
Not long after a gang of elderly men delivered an undeserved beating to a young man for refusing to give up his seat, another elderly man in Baoding, Hebei decided to punish what he perceived as similarly impertinent behavior.
Infuriated that no one would give up his or her seat on the bus for him, the elderly man exited the vehicle and stood in front of it to block traffic. A woman who was traveling with him also joined him in creating the traffic jam.
The elderly man blocked the bus while incessantly shouting: “Nobody gets to go anywhere today!”
It took two hours for him to finally back down and get out of the road.
Many commenters on the story expressed disgust, saying that if the elderly man was well enough to stand in the street for two hours, did he really need someone to give up their seat? At least not all elderly folks share the same self-righteous attitude.
