The 3rd annual Jiangsu Bank and Financial Enterprise cash-counting and fake note-identifying competition was just held in Nanjing, Jiangsu. It’s something.
More than 30 million RMB in cash was available for counting, along with dozens of police stationed throughout the event. Participants were required to count cash notes as well as identify counterfeit notes (we previously published a guide for detecting counterfeit notes in China should you like to take a try).
The host explained the the aim of the competition was to emphasize the importance of human labor due to defects found in cash-counting machines.
To get a feel for just how fast these hands flip through notes, watch this video from the competition a couple years ago.
