Following the trend of oddly themed mass wedding celebrations in China, 58 couples on Saturday decided to exchange vows on a jet flying from Hangzhou to Beijing, because getting married on ground-level is for squares and suckers.
The couples took turns walking down the cabin aisle before pulling up their elbow rests and locking lips beneath the ever-fluorescent cabin lights.
The newlyweds were offered a two-day stay in Beijing after the air wedding, which was seemingly more of a promotional stunt than an official occasion (is that China Eastern Airlines?) We’d probably do it too if the trip was free.
Above: Happy faces abound before getting weighed down by the old ball ‘n’ chain.
Below: Statistically speaking, around a quarter of these people will end up getting a divorce.
There are some good one-liners for this occasion (beyond “Love is in the Air”) but we can’t seem to bring ourselves to do it. Feel free to contribute.
