A writer in Xi’an was forced to climb to the top of a tree and remain there overnight after three wild boars encircled him on his visit to a mountain, where he’d gone to find some inspiration, China Daily reported.
The writer surnamed Li had been lodging at a villager’s home over a year and regularly took trips up to the mountain to seek his inspiration for writing.
The villager said that Li usually descends from the mountain around 4:00 p.m. On this occasion, however, Li never returned. The villager called the police around 10:00 p.m. when he saw that Li hadn’t come home.
A search party hiked up the mountain to search for Li overnight. At last, the haggard-looking writer as found.
To show Li’s appreciation, he gave two of his books to each member of the search party. Good publicity, really.
