The first-ever 2,000-square-meter “soccer field in the air” was recently photographed on the rooftop of a 20-meter-tall building in Anhui’s Fuyang city.
A group of soccer fans are seen kicking the ball around in the grassy field.
Surveillance cameras and protective nets have been installed around and above the field to prevent the balls from being kicked out of the area and off the building.
Last month, images of a 200-meter-long rooftop running track built at a primary school in Zhejiang province caught the attention of web users. The idea actually came out of necessity; the school had no ground space for a new playground or running track. The rooftop track’s chief architect said that he could see the design being adopted by other schools or companies seeking space-saving solutions. Looks like it caught on in Anhui.
