A new 3D preview of the Shanghai Disneyland Resort has been released, revealing that the Shanghai theme park will host the tallest and largest Disney castle in the world.
Located at the center of the theme park, Disney promises that the Enchanted Storybook Castle will not only be the biggest, but also the “most spectacular and interactive Disney castle yet.” It will feature a winding staircase that takes guests on a “Once Upon a Time Adventure” and a boat ride attraction with an underground chamber.
But more importantly, will there or will there not be an “It’s a Small World After All” ride?
Shanghai Disneyland will be home to the first Pirates of the Caribbean-themed park, among its six other themed lands, the resort announced earlier this year.
The theme park will also feature an 11-acre green space called Garden of the Twelve Friends, containing 12 massive mosaics depicting the 12 signs of the Chinese zodiac using Disney characters.
Transport authorities announced in July that plans were in the works for a high-speed rail that would connect Shanghai Disneyland with other city and air hubs. Development of the Shanghai Disney Resort is “well under way,” according to its website, and is expected to be open in 2015 (however unfeasible that may seem).
