A construction worker in Yanchang county, Shaanxi province accompanied his bride to their wedding ceremony yesterday on the top of a front loader, followed by seven other loaders that trailed behind.
The groom, surnamed An, told reporters that the creative idea came from his colleagues.
In the early morning, An’s fleet of front loaders rolled over to his wife’s home, about 10 kilometers away from his own.
“The innovative idea drew many people to watch on the whole trip,” An’s friend told reporters.
In China, where it almost feels as if every one wedding should outdo the last, couples go to great extents to tie the knot in new ways. This includes airplane marriages, mass ceremonies and obnoxiously blinged-out weddings.
This summer in Shaanxi, an eco-minded newlywed gave his wife a ride home on the back of a tricycle after their wedding ceremony.
