Dozens of senior citizens were seen waiting in a line stretching over 300 meters yesterday to buy discounted eggs at a newly opened supermarket located in Shanghai’s Hongkou district.
For the promotional deal, the eggs were sold for 11 yuan per kilo, about half of the going-rate at other markets.
Thank goodness these eggs were not yet chickens. We’ve already witnessed the clucking madness that ensues.
