A CCTV public service announcement showing a panda bear taking a leak on the side of the Sydney Harbor Bridge after engaging in various other acts of indecent behavior was pulled from the air.
The ad, developed by creative agency DDB China, shows the pandas sleeping on benches, spray painting palm trees and littering. It was described as a “philanthropic piece” reminding Chinese travelers not to forget that “the whole world is watching us”.
The full video, directly below, was the director’s cut of the film which never ran on national television in China, according to DDB.
A shorter version of the film (sans peeing panda) aired on the CCTV network, but has since been discontinued with no explanation.
WKND, the new brunch.booze.chillout session, continues this Sunday at Urbn Hotel, 12.30 – 5.30pm.
