Twelve grannies in a jazz dance troupe will receive plastic surgery in order to beautify themselves for a performance in the country’s annual Spring Festival Gala. Don’t be fooled by their can-can high kicks—these ladies have a composite average age of 60!
With humble beginnings in the back-alley squares of Chongqing, presumably dancing to the ever popular “Xiao Ping Guo,” these grannies have since set their sights on stardom.
They have traveled nationwide to perform their bedazzled jazz numbers, replete with dance canes, leg warmers, and spangled bow-ties. The women, who if anyone needs reminding would all qualify for the early bird special, will have the surgery in a cosmetic surgery hospital to prepare themselves for what is sure to be a very glittery prime-time appearance.
Face lift? Sure. Tummy tuck? Go ahead. But these ladies were born with the gift of jazz hands and nothing, and not even their senior citizen status (or the stuck up people from the town in Footloose), can stop them from dancing. Will they become as popular as the famous spinning girl next year? A few months’ time will tell!
