A fresh graduate from the Henan University of Technology in Zhengzhou became the subject of criticism and envy on social media as images of his resume, hand-painted on a six-meter scroll, went viral online.
The scroll begins with a cover page reading “Feng Hongxian’s Resume”. The contents include his job expectations and social experiences. Feng also highlights every chapter with bold, red characters.
The graduate spent around an hour printing out the scroll-resume. He initially put it in his QQ Zone but it soon was discovered and reposted on Weibo by his university.
Many web users applauded Feng’s approach to displaying his talents while others (who were probably just mad that they didn’t think of the idea first) felt skeptical that he did it himself. A number of netizens even complained that he was just trying to get attention…but isn’t that the point?
Feng said he was hurt to see that his intentions were misunderstood, as he simply meant to inspire other graduates. He hoped that the students would put skills they’ve learned in school into practice instead of “discussing stratagems on paper”.
