Four female university students at Jiangxi province’s Jiujiang University pooled their money together and spent 1,200 RMB to transform their drab dorm room into…well, we don’t really know how to describe it, but it’s cool.
The students, Cao Man, Lin Qiaoya, Hanyu Tong and Wu Maojun, turned their conventional dorm room into a retro-styled, urban brick-themed apartment using DIY wallpaper and some cheap modern furniture finds.
The four first year students are all majoring in visual communications and design at Jiujiang University’s College of the Arts. To them, dorm life is a trademark of the college lifestyle; they wanted to create an environment unlike any other to spent their next four years.
The bedroom door was designed to look like a café entrance and the brick wallpaper was put up to give the room a more open, urban vibe.
Considering the bleak space some uni students have to work with, we’d much prefer the (usually tacky) fake brick approach. Do you dig?
