Coconuts Hong Kong has directed our attention to this striking time-lapse video showing sights of Hong Kong most of us have likely never had the chance to behold with our own, unworthy eyes.
Vacant roads and misty clouds sweeping across a star-strewn sky void of high-rises: these aren’t usually the scenes that first come to mind when one thinks of Hong Kong, but they exist—this video proves it.
The time-lapse video is made up of thousands of photos taken over the span of a year. Creator Francis So set out to “show that we can still find [this] amazing natural scenery” amid Hong Kong’s rapidly developing urban landscape.
