Photos of an alleged mistress being violently stripped naked by a group of women on the streets of Puyang, Henan province are still gaining traction online after being uploaded earlier this month.
The unedited photos, which were originally uploaded on October 10, show groups of people standing by and watching as she gets thrown around and her clothes are ripped off.
A local policewoman afterwards confirmed with The Global Times that a “gang of four women attacked and sexually assaulted the victim” on a street, and a criminal case has since been filed.
On Sina.com.cn, a video compilation of images from the most recent event has garnered thousands of comments from people, many of whom actually defended the actions of the attackers.
“Mistresses who know the man is married but enter a relationship anyway deserve to be insulted and beaten,” user Shuaiqide Langge said.
Instances of women publicly stripping and humiliating suspected xiaosan are commonly reported. This past July, a woman in Yulin had her clothes ripped off and was beaten in the street after she was accused of being a home-wrecker. Last month in Guangdong, a similar case turned violent.
