Four girls aged 11 to 14 were caught attempting to transport 1.39 kilograms of heroin hidden inside their bodies after being persuaded by an “unfamiliar auntie”.
Police in Longling, Yunnan province last week stopped a minibus suspected of transporting drugs in the Haitou Village after they’d received a tip-off, Xinhua reports. Inside, they found the four minors from Butuo county, Sichuan province.
The girls said that they were approached by a woman who promised to give them a total of 10,000 yuan if they’d help her transport some “goods” from Yunnan province to Sichuan.
They said they were taken to a city near Yunnan’s border area, where the woman asked them to swallow the 320 capsules containing the drugs.
“The four girls are minors. They did not know that the goods in their bodies were drugs. Nor did they understand that their actions were illegal,” a police officer, Zhao Hongbin, was quoted as saying in the Sina report.
The girls discharged the heroin on October 15 and were sent back home, where we assume they were placed in a corner and forced to think hard about what they did.
