A 150kg Beijing woman had to be carried by seven people down from her fifth floor apartment building to an ambulance yesterday after she slipped into a coma. Luckily, she came to life after receiving medical help, NetEase reported.
The woman, surnamed Yi, is in her 60s and suffers health conditions due to her obesity.
“This was the fourth time that she fell ill. She often falls into a coma and then her temperature goes up before she falls ill,” said Yi’s daughter. “Three days ago, there were signs showing that she was not very well but she refused medical treatment. We decided to purchase a ventilator for her as to prevent her illness from getting worse.”
Right after Yi was put on the ventilator, she slipped into a coma. The family quickly made an emergency phone call.
When the emergency workers arrived and tried to take Yi to the hospital, they found that the ambulance was too small to hold her, and had to send another, larger ambulance.
Yi was finally carried down the stairs by four emergency workers and three security guards around 4:00 in the afternoon, after which she was sent to the hospital. She is now recovering.
