Wang Zhi and Qing Qing’s wedding was designed by prison staff and Wang’s cellmates.
A man who was locked up for drug dealing recently tied the knot with his girlfriend at the Dazhou Prison in Sichuan province, QQ News reports. It’s sweet.
Wang Zhi is originally from Lingshui county of Sichuan province. After divorcing his first wife, he packed up his bags and traveled with his son to Ganshu, where he and Qing Qing (alias) fell in love.

Wang found himself under great pressure after meeting Qing Qing and resorted to drug dealing to earn money. She was completely in the dark about Wang’s illicit side job until he got caught and was given seven years and six months of hard time.
Qing Qing visited Wang every month in prison. She even proposed to him against her family’s will, but was turned down as Wang didn’t want her to have to wait for him. Qing Qing didn’t give up, and began writing letters to express her determined love for him.
With the encouragement of prison guards, Wang mustered up the courage to make a proposal phone call in July. Qing Qing agreed and the couple registered their marriage at the Civil Affairs office on July 27. Prison staff began arranging a wedding ceremony for Wang and Qing Qing on October 23.
Wang told reporters that he wants to take good care of her wife and carry on with the family’s responsibilities when he gets out of the prison.

“I hope he can turn over a new leaf and bring love home after he is released,” said one user.
Another wrote: “That’s the best explanation for love–never abandon your beloved one.”
“He’s got a good wife. The power of love can make him good,” said an optimistic netizen.
